“Scenes at The Ranch” (2021)

Scenes at the RancH - Initial composition between 2010 and 2012 at Ghost Ranch, near Abiquiu, New Mexico. Each of the movements is inspired by a painting by American Painter Georgia O'Keefe, who spent much of her life at Ghost Ranch. All five paintings were done between 1937 and 1940. Towers is inspired by The Cliff Chimneys (1938), Cedar Tree by Cedar Tree with Lavender Hills (1937), The Patio by The Patio No. 1 (1940), Pedernal by Red Hills and Pedernal (1934), and Cliffs by My Backyard (1937). “Scenes at the Ranch” was premiered at the 2012 IDRS Convention at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Final Edited version published in August, 2021.

de koonings’s new york - initial composition work between march and May of 2020, in austin, texas, during the pandemic retreat. each of the four movements is inspired by a painting by Willem de kooning. All four paintings were done in 1955. Each movement bears the titl of the painting. 1. The Springs, 2. Police Gazette, 3. Woman-Ochre, 4. Interchange. “de kooning’s new york was premiered at texas state university in february 2023. final edited version published in september 2023.
